How to Install
Remove the Old Header
Let the exhaust cool completely. Remove the bolts at the exhaust port using a 14mm wrench. Support the muffler while loosening the clamp at the mid-pipe. Slide the header out of the port — some RTV sealant may be present; scrape it clean with a plastic scraper.
Install the New Header with New Gaskets
Place the new multi-layer gaskets on the exhaust port studs. Slide the new header into position, aligning the flange with the port. Start the header bolts by hand to avoid cross-threading, then torque to 18–22 Nm in a criss-cross pattern. Allow the gasket to seat for 10 minutes before final torque.
Mount the Slip-On Muffler and Heat Shield
Slide the slip-on muffler onto the header outlet. Position the muffler and install the stainless clamp — tighten to 8 Nm. Peel the backing from the heat shield adhesive strip and press it onto the header pipe, contouring it by hand. Trim excess length with aviation snips if needed.
Attach the Exhaust Tip and Check for Leaks
Slide the exhaust tip over the muffler outlet and secure with the included worm-drive clamp. Tighten to 5 Nm. Start the engine and let it idle — check all joints for exhaust leaks. Any leaks will sound like a hiss at the flange or clamp. Retorque or add RTV as needed.
